On Monday, September 17th, 2025, Desert Valley High School celebrated the achievements of more than 100 scorpions who excelled during the first and second grading periods.

A total of 110 students were recognized for making honor roll, 25 for perfect attendance, and 10 Renaissance students for their hardwork.

With the school year being sixty days in perfect attendance is a great accomplishment. These students have not missed a single day, arrived late, or left for an unexcused reason. This has led to the school meeting their 85% attendance rate semester.

The ceremony began with Principal Leyva, who thanked students for their dedication to being at school ready to learn. Standing at the center of the stage with student leaders beside him, he set a tone of pride and encouragement. ASB President Hector presented certificates to the students, while Counselor Martinez handed each student a gift card in recognition of their efforts.

For seniors like Kimberly Castro, the event carried special meaning. “I will be finishing up at DVHS in the Winter. I plan to get a degree in Business Management,” she shared. Castro also serves as a student board representative, attending BUHSD School Board meetings and acting as a link between students and district leadership. For her and many others, the ceremony was not only a celebration of academic success but also a reminder of the lasting impact of commitment, leadership, and perseverance at Desert Valley High.
