Varsity wrestler Lauren Zaragoza has officially signed her letter of intent to continue her wrestling career at Colorado Mesa University, marking the next chapter in her already remarkable journey on the mat.
As she enters her fourth year of wrestling at Brawley Union High School, Zaragoza carries both pride and determination. She will defend her 2025 CIF State Championship title in the 135-pound division, which she earned earlier this year. Her high school career is decorated with multiple titles, including FS State Champion, 2024 CIF State Placer and Three-time 17U All-American
Beyond athletics, Zaragoza excels in the classroom. She maintains a 4.3 GPA while participating in dual enrollment courses through Imperial Valley College, demonstrating her commitment to both academic and athletic excellence.
“Learning to stay humble and respecting not just myself, but the mats and my opponents as well, has taught me that being able to compete at a higher level is never guaranteed.” stated Zaragoza.
With her achievements and mindset, Zaragoza is ready to make a lasting impact at Colorado Mesa University while inspiring future generations of student-athletes at Brawley Union.
