Attention Senior Students

Hello Seniors, Class of 2024, the following are scholarships that are available.  Please make sure to look at posted deadlines and make sure to read on the application to see if you must mail it out or deliver it directly to their organization or office address.  The only scholarships that will be collected in the counseling center are the ones that specifically state that.

P.E.O California State Chapter Scholarships

My name is Gretchen Simms and I am writing to you on behalf of P. E. O. Chapter GW.  We are a women's organization whose focus is to raise money for scholarships for women.  The P. E. O. organization is an international group with chapters in the United States and Canada. There are 6 chapters in Imperial Valley.

We would like to make you aware of the P. E. O. California State Chapter Scholarships that are available to you.  The scholarships for the academic year 2024-2025 have recently been posted.   The completed applications are due on or before January 15, 2024  

There are four different categories from which to apply:

1) Dorothy L Weller  - pursuing a study in Law

2) Ethel O Gardener Scholarship - Janet H Griswold Memorial Scholarship -  Dorothy Halleck Education Scholarship - pursuing a variety of academic fields  including Education.

3) Ruth G White Scholarship Fund - Dorothy C. Wisner Scholarship - for  women studying medicine.

4) Scholarship Selection Committee - these are 40 separate scholarships awarded to women studying in a variety of academic fields and from specific geographic locations.

The Selection Committee will match you with the scholarship that aligns with your course of study.

Rotary International is an international service organization whose stated purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. 2023 Academic/Community Service Award (Limited to Graduating Seniors at Brawley Union High School). Justin Denault Memorial Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to honor the memory of our beloved Justin Denault. Justin was the son of two Blue Knights members;therefore, law enforcement was engrained in his blood as well as their love for motorcycle riding. Justin's legacy of love, respect for others and pursuit of higher education are the values that we would like to honor and seek in the leaders of tomorrow.

The Blue Knights International-Chapter X, El Centro, CA will make available (1) $1,000 dollar academic scholarship for students in the law enforcement field. Since we are a law enforcement organization, scholarships may also be applied for the attendance to a basic law enforcement academy.

Applications must be returned via email or mail to the Scholarship Committee no later than May 15, 2023. The applicants selected will be notified by phone and email. Please refer to the application for additional criteria that will be considered during the selection process. Email and mailing address is on the application. Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club Scholarship

Realizing that the youth of today will be the future of tomorrow, the purpose of this scholarship is to assist with the continued education and further development of those potential leaders. Blue Knights International - El Centro, CA will make available (2) $500 dollar academic scholarships for students in the law enforcement field. Since we are a law enforcement organization, scholarships may also be applied to attend a basic law enforcement academy.

Applications must be returned via email or mail to the Scholarship Committee no later than May 15, 2023. For BUHS seniors who plan to become a teacher. You must have a minimum 3.0 GPA to apply and be planning to enroll in college for Fall of 2023.

Myers Family Scholarship

This scholarship is open to BUHS graduating Seniors.  Two $1000.00 scholarships will be awarded.  Students must attend a four-year university next Fall. CMWF Heritage Foundation Educational Scholarship

CMWF Heritage Foundation is offering scholarships to residents of Imperial County who have chosen a  field of study in continuing their education in technology school, trade school or a two‐year college.  The applicant’s interest will be in welding, agricultural mechanical, electrical, livestock, auctioneering,  agricultural business or other similar fields.  Applicants must be enrolled or have been enrolled in Future Farmers of America (FFA), 4H, and  Independent or ROP program.  

California Mid-Winter Fair Heritage Foundation Educational Scholarship Application

Deadline to apply is Saturday, April 1, 2023

Rockwood AG Services Scholarship

One $1,000 scholarship is specifically for a graduating senior high school student and with an interest in the field of agriculture including Ag Business, agronomy, entomology, soils, or related fields with the objective of a career in pest management, agronomy, plant breeding or farming. CSW Scholarship 2023

Offering (2) CSW Scholarships, available to BUHS Graduates planning to pursue one of the following fields of study: Nursing Program to become an RN, Legal Field to become a Legal Assistant, or Legal Field to become a Paralegal. Imperial Valley Raider Nation Booster Club Scholarship

This scholarship is being offered to a senior student who has either been an athlete while attending their High School or been involved with the community. This scholarship is for students who will attend a Junior College or University and plan on continuing with sports. Please submit your complete application to Ms. Castro in the BUHS counseling center. Knights of Columbus Scholarship 2023

For the Class of 2023 Brawley Union High School graduates who plan to attend college next Fall. The deadline to submit an application to Ms. Castro in the Counseling Center is Friday, April 14, 2023. 2023 CAA Youth Scholarship Program

The CAA Youth Scholarship Program offers a total of $25,000 in funds to children of active duty law enforcement and fire service personnel in the State of California who are graduating from high school in 2023. Hagan Scholarship Foundation

The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, providing recipients with the opportunity to graduate college debt-free. The scholarship provides up to $7,500 each semester for up to eight (8) consecutive semesters. Hidalgo Society Inc. 2023 Scholarship

Republic Services Education Scholarship 2023

Three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded this year to Brawley Union High School students as part of the 2023 Republic Services Education Scholarship. The 2023 Republic Services of Imperial Valley Scholarship is designed to promote student achievement by providing scholarships to students who show interest in attending a two-year community college, technical education school or university. PEO Chapter WU Scholarship

This scholarship is open to senior girls who might begin their college studies at IVC and then transfer to a 4 year university to complete their studies. The applicant must have at least a cumulative 3.5 GPA to apply. Special consideration is given to a young woman who will be the first in her family to attend college. Munguia Math Scholarship 2023

Mr. & Mrs. Munguia have been giving a scholarship to high school Seniors since 2006 and have focused on students who have excelled in mathematics at BUHS and are enrolled in or completed AP Calculus or AP Statistics.  We encourage students who are planning on continuing their studies at a university or community college to apply.  Although the recipient does not have to be focusing on math in college, we'd like for you to talk about the importance that math has had in your life so far and how it will help you in your studies and career in the future.

2023 Brawley FFA Booster Club Scholarship

Scholarships will be awarded to Brawley Union High School Seniors in recognition of service, leadership, and academics, for the purpose of encouraging the recipients to continue their education at a career technical school, junior college or 4-year university. Open to Brawley High School seniors that will be attending college full-time in the Fall & with a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average & minimum of 1 year of attendance in Brawley FFA.  

Scholarships: 1 - $1,000.00         3 - $500.00        3 - $250.00.

Brawley Elementary Teachers' Association 2023 Scholarships

B.E.T.A. is offering scholarships of $300, to students attending BUHS. Students must have attended Brawley Elementary public schools (K-8). Students must have a 3.0 G.P.A. and include a letter explaining their future plans and their need for financial assistance. You may download the BETA Flyer B.E.T.A. Frankie L. Chavez Memorial Scholarship 2023

Our Son Frankie and his friend Nathan Mata lost their lives in a tragic automoblile accident on December 4, 1993 when another driver ran a stop sign. Frankie had just graduated BUHS and had enrolled at IVC. As parents who have experienced the loss of a vibrant and active teenager, we felt the best way to keep our son's memory alive is by doing something positive for graduating high school seniors. Soon after with the help of family and friends we started this scholarship foundation. For BUHS 2023 graduating Seniors with a target GPA of 2.5-3.8. Wildcat Women Scholarship

Wildcat Women Scholarship Foundation is an organization consisting of Brawley Union High School graduates and friends who are committed to promoting equity in education by annually offering scholarships to senior women from the Brawley Union High School District. This year, the Wildcat Women Scholarship Foundation will award four (4) scholarships of $1,000 each to BUHS or Desert Valley High School senior women with a GPA of 2.2 or better. Senior women meeting this requirement are encouraged to apply. Eligible senior women interested in applying for the scholarships must complete the Wildcat Women Scholarship Foundation Application. Brawley Senior Get Together Club Scholarship

This scholarship is offered to graduating seniors and students planning to attend college in the Fall of 2023 only one scholarship per family, per year will be awarded. Students must have a minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 2.0 to apply. You may download a copy of the application here or pick up a copy in the counseling center. ICOE Foundation for Education Scholarships

The Foundation for Education is accepting applications for $500 scholarships to:

·        Students in alternative education/continuation schools, and/or
·        Students with special needs who will attend a career technical school, community college, or university in Fall 2023.

Last year, the Foundation for Education awarded twenty $500 scholarships.

Students who wish to apply may submit a personal essay or a video, along with a completed application, two letters of recommendation, and their high school transcript.

For eligibility requirements and additional information on how to apply, please review the attached application packet.
The deadline to submit a scholarship application is 5:00 pm on Friday, April 29, 2023.

Anderson Family Foundation 2023 Community Service Scholarship

For a graduating Senior from BUHS who has been accepted into a four-year university and planning to pursue a bachelor's degree. The scholarship this year will be for $1,000.00. Imperial County Teachers Uniserv Scholarship

All requirements for this scholarship are listed on the scholarship application and on the scholarship guidelines. Please be advised that completed applications must be returned to the Imperial County Teachers Uniserv office in Imperial and must be in the office by 5:00pm, April 20, 2023. Imperial Valley Kennel Club Scholarship

The Imperial Valley Kennel Club, a licensed officiate of the American Kennel Club annually provides scholarships to Imperial Valley students. The individual amount has varied from $200 to $1,000. You must be a graduating senior, who has the intention upon graduation of entering college and pursuing a curriculum and career in an animal or agriculture field, eg. animal husbandry, zoology, biology, entomology, veterinary medicine, animal health technology. etc. Completed application is to be received by the Imperial Valley Kennel Club Scholarship Committee by April 15, 2023. Information About Scholarship: 

This scholarship will be awarded to Imperial Valley women attending high school who will be accepted to a four-year university/college or a community college/trade school.

JRF Scholars receive grants of up to $30,000 over four years to supplement the financial aid they receive from their colleges or universities. In addition, Scholars receive extensive support services, including career guidance and internship placement, and attend JRF’s annual four-day "Mentoring and Leadership Conference" in New York City and other regional events throughout the year.

A.W. Bodine-Sunkist Memorial Foundation Scholarship

We excited to share that The A.W. Bodine-Sunkist Memorial Foundation Scholarship is now accepting applications for the 2023-2024 school year. The A.W. Bodine-Sunkist Memorial Foundation awards scholarships to students with a personal or family involvement in Arizona or California agriculture.

Established in 1985, the A.W. Bodine-Sunkist Memorial Foundation has awarded nearly 300 scholarships over the years — all of which have been presented to students connected to the farming industry, including many of whom are the first in their families to attend college.

 

The A.W. Bodine-Sunkist Memorial Foundation honors the memory of former Sunkist Director Arthur W. Bodine. Sunkist is proud to play a role in the success of these outstanding students. The number of recipients varies each year, with selection based on factors such as financial need, GPA, recommendations and an essay. If you or someone you know meets the agricultural, academic and financial requirements and would like to apply, please encourage them to do so.

 

All applicants must be high school seniors planning on entering college in 2023 or currently enrolled in college as an undergrad. Applications must be received by December 15, 2022.

Reminder that the deadline for the Youth Awards educational grants program is this Sunday, November 13th, at 11:59 PM ET. 

Our 24th Annual Youth Awards will award students who are in the graduating Class of 2023 (current high school seniors) with up to $4000 in educational grants to fund their higher education or to fund a community-based project.
 
Recipients will be selected for their accomplishments in the classroom, community, and for their excellence in various educational categories. Recipients will be celebrated at virtual ceremonies in the following categories: 

  • Business & Entrepreneurship

  • Community Service

  • Education

  • Engineering

  • Green Sustainability

  • Healthcare & Science

  • Media & Entertainment

  • Public Service & Social Justice

  • Sports & Fitness

  • Technology 

Applicants and recipients will become part of HHF’s network of 200,000+ professionals and funneled into its cycle of leadership pipeline, where we meet America's priorities in the classroom and workforce.
 
To be considered, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Be currently enrolled in high school and graduating in the spring of 2023

  • Must have a minimum unweighted 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale or 7.5 on a 10.0 scale

  • Must enroll at an accredited higher education institution in 2023-2024

  • Be of Hispanic heritage (includes Spain, Brazil, Philippines)

  • If selected, attendance at the virtual ceremony is mandatory
