February’s Teen Dating Violence Prevention Month, featuring the theme Healthy Relationships. Resource fair on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, during lunch in the Quad area.

There’s a new club on campus!! It’s called Friday Night Live, or FNL for short. The club focuses on building partnerships between young people and adults to promote healthy, alcohol-and-drug-free lifestyles among high school students. It emphasizes leadership, campus and community service, and substance abuse prevention through school-based activities. This is a youth-led club, supported by adults on campus, and encourages positive choices, community and campus engagement, and healthy relationships. It is brought to BUHS by the Imperial County Office of Education. The club meets at lunch every first and third Friday of the month, beginning on Friday, February 6th in Room 43. Go check it out if this is something that interests you!

SPRING SPORTS: All student-athletes must be cleared to participate. Get your physicals completed if you have not done so already. Complete the register my athlete process to be cleared to try out and if you have any questions you see Mr. Brewer in the gym. See Mrs. Munguia or Val in the ASB office to receive your clearance card.
Softball: Softball Tryouts for the upcoming season will be held on Saturday, February 14th for ALL levels starting at 10:00 a.m. at the varsity softball field. If you are participating in a winter sport please contact Coach Kerns at (760) 791-1817 to make arrangements to try out after the completion of your season.
Swimmers: Contact Mrs. Cruz's class (Room 90 across the street by FFA).
Track Meeting: Track Meeting Tuesday February 3rd after school 3:05 in the old gym. Practice will start Tuesday February 10th 3:30-5:30 at the back PE/practice field at the school. You must be cleared to practice. Contact Coach Dion if you have any questions.
COUNSELING CENTER:
Next week is a big one! From February 2nd to February 6th, we’ll be hosting the annual Imperial Valley College Orientation and Advising sessions right in your Civics classroom.
Check with your Civics teacher for the exact day you’re scheduled to attend. It’s crucial that you’re there so you can lock in Priority Registration for the Fall 2026 semester. It’s always a good idea to have this completed just in case you decide to stay local and attend IVC this fall.
