Brawley Union High School District’s Community Schools Program hosted a Mental Health Fair in partnership with the Brawley Elementary School District, bringing the theme “Building Wellness Together” to life. The event highlighted the growing importance of mental health support on school campuses, emphasizing that student well‑being is essential for academic success, emotional growth, and long‑term stability.

The afternoon opened with student performances, including the Barbara Worth Junior High Drumline and Brawley Union Folklorico, setting a vibrant and welcoming tone for the fair.

A wide range of community organizations participated, offering resources, guidance, and support for students and families. Partners included NAMI San Diego & Imperial Counties, Sure Helpline Center, Innercare, Sun Community Federal Credit Union, Volunteers of America, and Best S.T.E.P. Forward. Students were able to walk from table to table, learning about the services each organization provides and how to access help when needed.

Interactive activities such as calming jar creation, coloring stations, and wellness exercises encouraged students to explore simple ways to manage stress and support their mental health. The fair created an environment of connection, support, and community engagement—allowing students and families to discover resources, participate in hands‑on activities, and learn practical strategies for maintaining emotional well‑being.

It was an afternoon dedicated to wellness, awareness, and empowerment, reflecting the district’s commitment to supporting the whole student—academically, socially, and emotionally.
