On June 2nd 2025, just days before graduation seniors from across Brawley Union High School District set foot on campuses across Brawley to take part in the traditional senior walks. Returning to the halls of their elementary school they were greeted with cheers, high-fives and emotional reunions with former teachers, younger students and for some their family.
Senior walks are a traditional event for seniors, to walk their old elementary school hallways before they walk across the stage and receive their diploma. The event is not only meaningful to seniors, but also for the staff who see their former students grown into successful young adults.
This year’s walk was also special for the ten seniors whose parents work at these elementary schools. Watching their own children return for a final walk down the hall as a high school student.
Seniors walked the schools at Brawley including Barbara Worth Junior High, Brawley Christin Academy, JW Oakley, Phil D. Swing, Miguel Hidalgo, Mulberry Elementary and Myron D. Witter. This year also marked the first time newly built Padilla-Pace Middle School was walked!
This event is more than a walk down memory lane, the Senior Walks serve as inspiration for younger students offering them a glimpse into their own future as Wildcat at Brawley Union High School.
Congratulations to the Class of 2025!
