The BUHS Public Service Cadets attended the 69th annual Brawley Cattle Call Rodeo for the first time from Friday, November 7th through Sunday, November 9th. During the event, students gained valuable experience in customer service and public interaction, learning firsthand how to communicate effectively and professionally with community members.
While the experience included some challenges—such as dealing with difficult individuals—it provided students with an authentic lesson in handling adversity and maintaining composure in public-facing roles. The Cadets demonstrated teamwork, discipline, and the spirit of public service throughout the weekend.
This inaugural participation offered invaluable insight into the realities of serving the community, and the BUHS Public Service Pathway hopes to make this volunteer opportunity a new annual tradition for future Cadet classes.
