On June 3, 2026, Desert Valley High School proudly gathered to recognize the graduating Class of 2026. For the Scorpions, commencement represents far more than a formal event — it is a celebration of determination, growth, and the commitment that carried each student to this milestone.

The evening opened with the traditional processional, followed by the national anthem performed by DVHS teacher Mr. Grummet. In his first year on campus, Grummet marked the end of his inaugural year by lending his voice to the ceremony.

This year’s graduating class included 26 students who earned top Scorpion honors, achieving magna cum laude or cum laude distinction. Their accomplishments reflect the school’s core values and the dedication they demonstrated throughout their academic journey.

Faculty member Daniel Hernandez, along with student speakers, delivered heartfelt messages that highlighted the challenges, triumphs, and memories that shaped their time at Desert Valley. They emphasized the importance of respect — a guiding DVHS value that students will carry with them into the next chapter of their lives.

Superintendent Canalez, Principal Leyva, and the Brawley Union High School District Board of Trustees then presented diplomas, marking the culmination of years of effort, perseverance, and personal growth.

As the ceremony came to an end, the night sky lit up with the school’s traditional fireworks display. Graduates celebrated alongside their families, closing out their high school experience with pride and excitement for the future.
Congratulations to the Desert Valley High School Class of 2026.
